GSL Professional appoints Takis Tsonopoulos as Director of Sales

7 October

Takis Tsonopolos, Director of Sales, GSL Professional has extensive industry experience in Audio Visual, Professional Lighting, Automation & Control, Conference Systems, Simulation & Virtual Reality, CCTV / Intrusion Detection / Fire Detection, Access Controls & Electronic Locks, Active & Passive Networks, and Systems Integration.

Having had served a plethora of leadership roles such as Chief Commercial Officer for Qatar based integrator Panoutron, Managing Director for both DNA systems and NEDIS S.A. in Greece along with his inherent appreciation of sound and acoustics and his comprehensive knowledge of the region make him the ideal candidate for shouldering the responsibilities as Director of Sales at GSL Professional for UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait and KSA.

“Following on from his illustrious career representing global brands such as Yamaha, Midas, DTS, Meyer Sound & Electro-Voice in Greece, Takis spent a number of years in Qatar on the other side of the fence heading up a Qatar based integrator. Now firmly positioned as Sales Director within GSL Professional I am certain that his experience and direction will guide GSL to a future full of success,” said Sam Brandon, Managing Director, GSL Professional.

We recently sat down to discuss how his overall experience within the Company has been and how he plans steer the company forward in the near future.

–               How has your role evolved and what additional responsibilities will you be taking on now?

T: “The procedures in the company remain the same. I’ve been entrusted to develop and implement a structure to help my colleagues ensure customer happiness, because in the end, the goal is always to make the clients happy.

Our customers include resellers, integrators and end-users, so the entire chain has to be serviced in a way that highlights the added value of GSL Professional as the leading distributor in the region, so they are happy to continue to work with us and our products.”

–               How do you see the future of the company panning out under your leadership and which goals do you see yourself navigating the company toward?

T: “To be honest, GSL already is a leading name in the industry, which is part of the reason that I was happy to be invited to join the company. GSL has an amazing team of highly skilled, passionate people and most importantly each individual has tremendous respect for each other and the customers. So I want to strengthen this element, to help them overcome any obstacles which they may face, in order for us to maintain our status as the best distribution company in this region.”

“I want to make this statement stronger because the future of GSL is inherently our services to our clients. So, having a happier team that is working productively in turn means happy customers. To sum it up, my vision for the company, under these challenging circumstances in the region, is to make the company more successful in a way that it is aligned and closer to the customers.”

How has your experience in the company been so far?

T: The reason I came onboard GSL, is because in my ex assignment, working for an integrator as a CCO, out of all the suppliers and distributors who passed by my office, GSL really had a distribution attitude and they were very professional. It’s been six months since and I haven’t been once disappointed in my decision because the impression that I had of GSL Professional was correct and that it is indeed a professional and leading distribution company in the region.”

How would you predict the next few months?

T: “ Some people complain about the market being challenging at the moment, where as my understanding is that the market is becoming more professional and practical. Of course, the entire region is undergoing something of a transition, but as it happens around the world, this is the scenario when companies which maintain high levels of professionalism are the ones which win. Additionally, during this time money isn’t just floating around, so it’s a way of filtering the best.

I’m sure that GSL has a very bright future since we are constantly investing effort and capital to ensure the sustainability of our status as the best. “
